Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity
Could you help boost the supply of ‘Hospice Hearts’?
At the start of the pandemic local supporters started crafting pairs of knitted hearts and donating them to the Hospice in their hundreds and thousands.
Whilst patients and families were separated due to the restrictions in place at the time, the hearts were used to make them feel connected whilst apart. One heart was given to a patient, and the other taken home with family.
Even now restrictions have been lifted the Palliative Care team at the Hospice and on the wards in Stoke Mandeville Hospital continue to offer the hearts to patients and families, who find them a real source of comfort.
The pairs of hearts can be brought to the Hospice at Stoke Mandeville Hospital or to our offices on Walton Street in Aylesbury.
