More Information (Bucks Radio is not responsible for external websites)

Aylesbury Opera presents Poulenc's hauntingly beautiful opera 'Dialogues of the Carmelites'. The narrative tells the true story of the Martyrs of Compiègne, an order of Carmelite nuns persecuted during the French Revolution's Reign of Terror. This opera is a tour de force of fully rounded female characters, whose consciences wrestle with the need to maintain their faith, no matter what the cost.
A fully staged production with professional cast directed by Emma Large. With the Aylesbury Opera orchestra and chorus, conducted by Sam Laughton.
