Vote Green on May 1st for a Stronger, Greener Buckinghamshire
Green Party council candidates pledge bold action on the cost of living, community services, and the environment.
Buckinghamshire, 9th April 2025: As local elections approach on May 1st, the Green Party is urging residents across Buckinghamshire to vote for candidates who will be a strong voice for their communities, safeguard vital services, and protect the environment for future generations.
Green Party candidates are putting forward a clear, community-focused plan to tackle the cost of living crisis, defend essential services, improve local transport, face up to the climate crisis and ensure Buckinghamshire’s natural beauty is preserved.
“People across Buckinghamshire are crying out for change,” said Green Party Councillor Greg Smith. “They want councillors who listen, who act, and who care—not just about today, but about tomorrow. From protecting green spaces to delivering warm, affordable homes, Greens are ready to lead the way locally.”
Green Councillors Will:
- Tackle the Cost of Living Crisis: Support local businesses and green jobs, expand affordable housing with high insulation standards, and create pathways to secure employment through local skills partnerships.
- Protect Community Services: Reverse damaging cuts by identifying council budget efficiencies, improve mental health services, and ensure youth and adult care are properly supported.
- Transform Local Transport: Invest in safer roads, better bus services, and secure cycling routes to schools—championing a 20mph speed limit where residents want it.
- Defend Our Environment: Enforce green space protections, tackle water pollution, implement flood defences, and support community-backed renewable energy projects.
- Campaign for Fairer Democracy: Push for proportional representation in local elections and strengthen Community Boards to restore local accountability.
With a track record of grassroots action and environmental leadership, the Green Party is calling on voters to back a fresh, future-focused approach on May 1st.
