Better Value, Smarter Spending

Residents are paying more but getting less. We will root out waste, invest wisely in projects that save money in the long term, and ensure your Council Tax delivers real results, not just glossy headlines.

A Greener Buckinghamshire for Future Generations

Our county’s natural beauty is under threat from overdevelopment and climate inaction. We will protect green spaces, support sustainable transport, and help farmers restore biodiversity. We’ll double tree canopy cover and invest in real flood prevention—because climate action starts at the local level.

Caring for Carers and Standing Up for Health Services

The crisis in adult social care is getting worse. Costs are rising, unpaid carers are burning out, and vulnerable residents are falling through the cracks. The Liberal Democrats will act. We’ll open mental health hubs, protect respite and day care for vulnerable adults, and support unpaid carers who are being left to struggle alone. And we’ll continue to support our MPs in pushing for real reform from central government.

Homes That Work for People, Not Developers

The Conservatives have failed to produce an effective Local Plan, opening the floodgates to inappropriate, developer-led schemes. The Labour government’s changes to planning rules – especially the weakening of green belt protections – risk causing lasting harm to our countryside and reducing the voice of local communities. The Liberal Democrats will take back control of planning by working with local communities to deliver well-designed, genuinely affordable homes—especially the social housing Buckinghamshire so desperately needs. We will develop a strong Local Plan that focuses growth in the right places, prevents unsuitable development, and protects the green belt and natural spaces.

Supporting Families, Children, and Young People

After years of neglect, our Children’s Services are still in crisis. We will make sure the council keeps vulnerable children safe and invests in early support to prevent problems before they start. In education, we’ll cut delays in Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) provision, support a diverse range of schools so every child can access the education that best suits their needs—regardless of their parents’ financial situation—and prioritise young people’s mental health.

Fixing Roads, Restoring Pride

Buckinghamshire’s roads are some of the worst in the country, and the Conservatives have let them deteriorate year after year. We will invest in smarter, more cost-effective maintenance, and we’ll hold contractors to account—because residents deserve safe, usable roads and pavements.

Listening, Acting, Empowering

We will strengthen local democracy by giving more power to town and parish councils—including a long-overdue council for High Wycombe. We'll hold regular public engagement meetings, increase transparency, and make decision-making more accountable to residents.

Modern Services That Work for You

We will embrace digital transformation while making sure no one is left behind. By modernising how the council works, we’ll make it easier to access services, reduce bureaucracy, and reinvest savings into frontline care.
