15-year-old boy sentenced following stabbing

A boy has been sentenced for a stabbing in High Wycombe.

The boy, aged 15, who cannot be named for legal reasons, from South Tyneside, pleaded guilty to one count each of wounding with intent and being in possession of a bladed article on Thursday (11/5) at South Tyneside Youth Court. He was sentenced to a one year community order.

The sentence relates to an incident that happened on 29 October 2022 in Terriers End, High Wycombe.

A boy in his teens was stabbed by the offender and suffered three stab wounds.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Alex Spencer, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “This was a callous knife attack on a teenager out celebrating Halloween with his friends which resulted in life-changing injuries.

“The subsequent investigation was complex and hindered by the offender’s efforts to evade prosecution. I am therefore pleased to see the offender brought to justice.

“I am particularly pleased with the number of courageous young people who came forward and assisted with the investigation. This is a timely reminder of the consequences of youth knife violence and the importance of the community working with the police to bring prosecutions.

“I hope this will instil confidence that Thames Valley Police will leave no stone unturned when it comes to serious violence."
