South Central Ambulance Service say people should only call for an ambulance in a life-threatening situation.
Buckinghamshire’s ambulance service are asking us to only call 999 if an ambulance is truly necessary.
South Central have tweeted to say their phone lines are ‘extremely busy’ at the moment and that we should only be calling 999 for serious or life threatening conditions.

Our 999 service is currently extremely busy.
As usual we are focusing our efforts on our most seriously ill and injured patients. This means that there may be delays in responding to less urgent calls. pic.twitter.com/HRb5l9yCAJ
They’ve urged people with minor injuries to use an Urgent Treatment Centre instead, to take the pressure off paramedics.
They say:
"Only call 999 for serious or life-threatening emergencies such as loss of consciousness, severe bleeding, breathing difficulties, persistent and severe chest pain, symptoms of heart attack or stroke."

In order to help our teams on the road and in our control rooms, please only call us back after the first 999 call if the patient's condition has changed or if you wish to cancel the ambulance call out. pic.twitter.com/aTb2VGy0Hc
