Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has arranged a specialised vaccination clinic for people in the region who have a learning disability or who are autistic.
People with learning difficulties have been disproportionately impacted by Covid-19, with a Public Health England report on the first wave revealing a death rate six times higher than in the population as a whole.
The report said: “People with learning disabilities are likely to have had difficulty recognising symptoms of Covid-19, or following government advice about getting tested, self-isolation, social distancing and infection prevention and control.”
The clinic will be held at Amersham Hospital on Sunday 20 March, from 11am-3pm in the Main Outpatients area.
If you have any questions or would like to attend this clinic, please contact our learning disability and autism nurses on: 01296 316991 or email: bht.covidvaccineteam@nhs.net including your name and telephone number.
