This week is National Hate Crime Awareness Week, and the Aylesbury Vale Police are encouraging residents to always report this sort of crime to them.
Inspector James Davies has issued a statement:
"Hate crime is often hidden from view, with the victim often feeling it is somehow their fault, or that if they report the matter to the police they won't be taken seriously. None of this is true.
"It is simply not OK to be abused because of who you are, what you look like or what you believe in.
"If you have been the victim of hate crime then please contact the police via our website or 101 and you will be taken seriously".
