Aylesbury shop forced to remove unauthorised signage

It's after Buckinghamshire Council was able to enforce a Listed Building Enforcement Notice (LBEN) issued for the vape shop in Kingsbury.

The Council announced the successful compliance with a LBEN issued on 20 June 2024 for a premises at 60 Kingsbury, Aylesbury. The notice was issued in response to the unauthorised installation of advertisements, signs, and CCTV at the vape shop located at this address.

The notice came into effect on 1 August 2024, requiring the removal of all unauthorised installations and the repair of any resulting damage.

Following engagement by the council's Planning Enforcement team, the premises, situated in the Aylesbury Town Conservation Area and being a Grade II listed building, has now achieved full compliance.

The removal of the adverts, signs, and CCTV, along with the repair of holes and damage, has restored the building's historic appearance.

Peter Strachan, Buckinghamshire Council's Cabinet Member for Planning and Regeneration, commented on this achievement:

"We are delighted to see the compliance with the Listed Building Enforcement Notice at 60 Kingsbury, a premises which sits on a prominent corner. This area holds significant historical and architectural value, and its preservation is crucial for maintaining the character of Aylesbury Old Town.

"The successful removal of unauthorised installations and the restoration work not only uphold the integrity of our conservation area but also serve as a testament to our commitment to protecting Aylesbury's heritage."

Buckinghamshire Council will continue to ensure that all listed buildings are protected and maintained in accordance with planning regulations.
