Bucks disrupted due to flooding

Photo taken by Vivian Blofield-Turnham

Heavy rain in the county made for a miserable Monday morning on the roads, while some schools have been closed due to flooding. The advice is still to only travel if absolutely necessary.

Aylesbury town centre was gridlocked, with flooding on the Oxford Road causing major issues. One caller to Bucks Radio said it took them over 2 hours to get from Wingrave to beyond the College.

Nabila Awan captured this video from the A418, which saw areas at least 2 foot under water and has been closed as a result of the flood;

With more rain set to fall throughout the day, the situation doesn't look like improving today.

Hayden Abbey School in Aylesbury, and Lord Williams in Thame, have both been closed.
