Bucks paramedic urges support for match funding appeal

A palliative paramedic from Buckinghamshire is backing a campaign that will see local hospice care charity, Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care, aim to raise £100,000 in just seven days. The charity has set the ambitious target in a bid to fund palliative paramedic care in the coming year.

During the challenge (midday on Tuesday 3 December and midday on Tuesday 10 December) any donations made via the Big Give website will be doubled, while matched funding lasts. This gives local people the chance to make twice the impact with their donation.

Megan Brown is one of the charity's palliative paramedics. She works in the Hospice at Home team and travels to patients in Buckinghamshire. She is part of a group of dedicated nurses and paramedics who provide planned and unplanned care to local people who are living with a progressive life-limiting illness.

Megan explains why she's backing this year's Big Give Christmas Challenge:

"I love working as part of the Rennie Grove Peace Hospice at Home team and meeting all the patients who we support to live the best quality of life they can. It's an extremely rewarding role and I am lucky to work with an incredible team of nurses and other paramedics.

"The care we provide is at no cost to our patients and families and is only made possible by the generous donations we receive from our local community.  By supporting the Big Give Christmas Campaign, you will make a meaningful impact, with every donation being doubled to support crucial local services. Don't miss the chance to make a difference—every pound you donate counts twice!"

All donations must be made via the Big Give Christmas Challenge website which will be linked from the Rennie Grove Peace page while the campaign is live between midday on Tuesday 3 December and midday on Tuesday 10 December.
