Bucks Radio exclusively reveal latest Panto star

Emma at Breakfast let the cat out of the bag with the news on Tuesday morning (30/7/24), and he's a very familiar face - and voice!

She announced the role of the villainous Captain Hook will be played by familiar face of stage and screen, Mark Moraghan (Coronation Street, Holby City, Brookside).

Mark has a whole host of TV series under his piratical belt including: Emmerdale, Doctors, Heartbeat, The Bill, Where The Heart Is, Casualty, Peak Practice and London's Burning, he has also appeared as a finalist on BBC's Celebrity Masterchef and came second to Russell Watson on BBC's Just The Two Of Us with singing partner, Atomic Kitten's Natasha Hamilton.

He has a barrel load of stage credits too having played Franklyn J Hart in 9 to 5 (National Tour), alongside roles in Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Palace Theatre, London), My Fair Lady (Liverpool Philharmonic); Come Fly With Me (Millennium Centre Cardiff); Strictly Murder (UK Tour); Macbeth (Art Theatre Company), and boasts another claim to fame as former Narrator for the popular children's TV show Thomas The Tank Engine, following fellow Liverpudlian's Ringo Starr & Michael Angelis as the voice of the programme.

Get ready for galleons of fun as Mark prepares to be the cast member every panto audience loves to hate:

'I've heard panto is big in Bucks, and this Hook is ready to bring it! I love everything about panto, and there's something about Captain Hook that never fails to get audiences vocal. I can't wait to join Bradley, Andy and the rest of the cast and crew for some antics in Neverland.  I guarantee families will have a fantastic adventure with us this Christmas'.

Mark will be anchoring up for panto season in Aylesbury alongside previously announced Bradley Riches from Netflix's Heartstopper and this year's Celebrity Big Brother, and panto favourite Andy Collins who is playing the clumsy, yet loveable Smee. This year's must-see production promises all the usual trademark fun that last year's record-breaking audiences have come to know and love.
