A Bucks councillor has taken her clothes off for a Calendar Girls-style photoshoot in aid of breast cancer charities.
Cllr Andrea Baughan, 57, is one of 15 women who had their picture taken in June for the 2024 wall calendar called Bucks Buxom Belles, which launches this weekend.
The Labour Councillor for Ryemead & Micklefield has lived on and off in High Wycombe for more than 50 years and works as a maternity care assistant.
She said: “Friends, relatives, colleagues have all been affected by breast cancer. It is something I am very aware of. I work with breastfeeding women, so I work with boobs every day.
“I am hoping that it will raise awareness, so that women will remember to check their boobs in the shower, will go for their mammograms.”
Speaking about the photoshoot, Cllr Baughan said: “I was slightly nervous, obviously it is a new situation. I did a bit of moisturising, a bit of buffing… But it was good fun.”
High Wycombe photographer Mark Page took the photos of the models, several of whom are survivors of breast cancer, a disease that one in seven UK women are diagnosed with.
The calendar is the brainchild of Juliet Hamilton and Rachael Paskin and is on sale for £15, with the proceeds going to Breast Cancer UK and Against Breast Cancer.
A photo launch takes place at the Mad Squirrel Tap & Bottleshop in High Wycombe at 12pm on October 8, with the Wycombe Mayor and a representative of Steve Baker MP set to attend. A launch party takes place on November 12.
