Simon Lacey will run over 26 miles around the streets of Berlin this Sunday.
The Aylesbury United Director is raising money for the club's charity partner Youth Concern, who support vulnerable 13-25 year olds across Aylesbury Vale.
Simon says "It will be hard, it will test me, and it will help me grow my resilience and personal strength.
It will also raise money for the amazing charity, Youth Concern, who do so many amazing things in our community"
The 26.2 mile race takes place this Sunday (Sept 29th) in Berlin and you support Simon using this link https://www.givey.com/berlinmarathon2024 (EXTERNAL SITE)
More about Youth Concern;
The charity supports those who have a connection to Aylesbury Vale (like living, working or being educated here). While the organisation is there 13-25 year olds, Youth Concern specialises in working with those who face additional challenges.
That might include young people who
- receive support from health and/or social care services
- are financially vulnerable
- have emerging or diagnosed mental health needs
- are homeless or at risk of homelessness
- are young carers
- are ‘looked after’ or have a child protection plan
- have Education, Health and Care plans (EHCPs)
- are affected by domestic or sexual violence or abuse
- have parents with mental health problems, alcohol or drug addictions
About 700 young people visit the Youth Concern Drop-In Centre on Whitehill Lane, near the Job Centre, every year
