Event will raise awareness of sudden infant death syndrome

A fundraising event will be held tomorrow to raise awareness for safer sleep for babies.

The Neonatal Unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital says sleeping on a sofa with your baby increases the risk of sudden infant death syndrome by up to 50 times.

The unit will be holding an event on Saturday to raise money for BURPS, Baby Unit Relatives and Parents support.

A tug-of-war featuring staff and celebrities will take place in the Spinal gym.

There will also be a cake sale, a raffle with great prizes and other activities between 12 and 3pm.
