Farmers from North Bucks have been driving through Aylesbury to add their support to those protesting in London outside Westminster today (10th Feb).
The protest is against proposed changes to inheritance tax rules. The rally, organized by Save British Farming, coincides with MPs discussing an e-petition with over 148,000 signatures urging the government to maintain current inheritance tax exemptions for working farms.
Luke Stimpson, a North Bucks Farmer from Stoke Goldington, said:
"We're here today for the FTA movement just to show the mistakes the government making and get back in the they through the TV, to go look around here and just see people coming together."
"We are united and, standing together in telling the government exactly how we feel with the inheritance taxes. I'm a first-generation farmer, the inheritance tax doesn't necessarily effect myself with the family at the moment, but, you know, without my neighbours, I've got no future in farming whatsoever.

Luke says: "It's got to stop. It must stop today. You've only got to look at the demonstrations happening in London. This is just a small group, those of us that couldn't take part in London are here today just to show that we're not going to have it. We're not going to tolerate it."
Labour remains firm on its decision to introduce a 20% inheritance tax on farms valued over £1 million, a move announced in the recent Budget. The changes, set to take effect in April 2026, will remove the exemption that previously allowed family farms to pass down without incurring inheritance tax.
