Fire crews rescue hamster from Aylesbury blaze

Stock image. This is not the actual hamster!

Emergency crews were called to a property on Regent Road on Friday (14/5).

It's after reports of a fire in the utility room of the building.

Two appliances and crews from Aylesbury attended.

Firefighters used one hose reel, two sets of breathing apparatus and a fan and rescued a hamster.

The utility room was mainly damaged by smoke and partially damaged by fire.

In a later incident on Friday night, one appliance and crew from Aylesbury helped the RSPCA rescue a cat on Nene Close.

Firefighters used a ladder, a toolkit and working-at-height equipment to rescue the stricken puss and gave advice to its owners.
