Fire in Winslow

Emergency services have been tackling a fire in Lowndes Way, Winslow (18/9/24).

A mini digger caught fire in the area where gas engineers are working. The fire started at around 6:20pm, with some residents from nearby homes and flats evacuated to the local school hall. Some homes were also without gas and electricity until around 6am on Thursday (19/9/2024).

We spoke to Yvonne O’Hara, who lives in Scott Evans Court, and was one of those evacuated.

She captured this video of the blaze:

We are aware of an ongoing incident at Lowndes Way, Winslow. We have had officers onsite and have been liaising with emergency services and affected members of the public.
