Wycombe Homeless Connection needs more people than ever before to ‘sleep out’ at home on Friday 19th November in solidarity with people the charity helps.
Heather Stanley, from the charity gave us more details about the sleep out:
"Anyone and everyone can take part! You swap your bed for a sleeping bag, build a shelter in garden, an office, a car park, at a church... even in your bathtub, then bed down for the night.
Ask your friends and family to sponsor you for doing it, then every penny raised will go towards making sure no-one has to sleep rough in the community this winter."
The event has been organised due to the rising numbers of homeless people back on the streets, after the government stopped their funding scheme that ran through during lockdown.
To raise even more money, Wycombe Homeless Connection are also hosting The Big Quiz on the same evening, so whether you are doing the sleep out or not, you can help raise funds for the charity.
It will be streamed live online at 7.30pm on Friday 19th November. Sleepouters can watch it then head to their shelter, or if you aren't able to join in with the sleepout, you can still take part and help raise funds and awareness.
