National Hedgerow Week may be over, but you're being encouraged by CPRE Bucks to help preserve hedgerows in Buckinghamshire.
Hedges connect habitats and provide homes for wildlife and we have lost half of them since the 1940s.
The humble hedge also cleans the air and protects the soil.
Paula Buck from the countryside charity says consider having a hedge if you have a garden:
She also explains how hedges don't just LOOK nicer than a fence:
The charity have launched a petition called #40by50 to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs - calling for government to commit to extending the hedgerow network by 40% by 2050
