Local Fire Crews tackle a number of incidents in Bucks yesterday

At least 6 large fires broke out across the County yesterday (8/8).

Bucks Fire and Rescue were first called out to a fire in the woods at Church Road, Bow Brickhill.  A fire, covering approximately eight metres by eight metres of undergrowth, had taken hold deep within woodland.

Another fire in Ragmans Lane in Marlow Bottom, required appliances and crews attending from: Maidenhead, High Wycombe, Slough, Windsor Tinkers Lane, Langley, Gerrards Cross, Mortimer and Bracknell. Approximately two hectares of cut straw, trees and bushes was on fire. The fire could be seen from the M40 northbound carriageway, and attracted a large number of calls into Thames Valley Fire Control.

Then Chalkshire Road, Butlers Cross, where one appliance and crew from Beaconsfield, one from Thame, two from Bedfordshire and one from Wheatley attended. The fire was in a field of approximately 77 acres of standing crop. The firefighters used: One main jet, Three hose reel jets and Five beaters. They established a water shuttle, and farm machinery was used to create a fire break to help prevent hotspots from spreading. Around 50 per cent of the field was damaged by the fire, which also affected neighboring woodland.

The first fire filmed by Claire's son, shows the fire at Dinton, the second fire is at Butlers Cross, all seen from as far as Whitchurch.  

A Combine harvester on was destroyed by the fire, on Cuddington Road, Dinton, the fire also affected approximately 250 square metres of field.e spreading to affect field. One appliance and crew from Abingdon, one from Wheatley and one from Buckingham attended. The firefighters used: Two sets of breathing apparatus, Two hose reels, Low expansion foam and they  were assisted by a farmer with a water bowser.

Another fire broke out in Mill Lane, Chalfont St Giles. One appliance and crew from Amersham attended. Fire affecting eight metres by eight metres of hedgerow, building materials and skips. The firefighters used: One main jet, One hose reel jet and One fog spike.
