Florence Nightingale Hospice is celebrating after Matilda Jr raised an outstanding amount for hospice care across Bucks.
Performed to packed and enthusiastic audiences, Matilda Jr was a triumph of teamwork, creativity, and heart. In just six days of rehearsals, the young cast of children from schools across Buckinghamshire, supported by an incredible team of chaperones, a dedicated production crew, and front-of-house volunteers, delivered a show that not only entertained but also made a lasting impact.
"I was absolutely blown away by Matilda Jr. and the incredible talent of the cast," said Sharron, whose niece and nephew were part of the production. "It’s amazing to think they brought it all together in just six days—the singing and dancing were outstanding. I’m already looking forward to their next show, and it’s wonderful to know that the funds raised support our local hospice.
The funds raised will go directly to Florence Nightingale Hospice, helping to deliver specialist, compassionate care for patients and their families when they need it most.

“This amazing total is a testament to the dedication, energy and generosity of everyone involved – from the talented performers to our supportive audience,” said Lyn Denham, Community and Events Fundraising Manager at Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity. “Matilda Jr wasn’t just a production; it was a powerful community effort that will make a real difference to so many people.”
Building on this incredible momentum, the Charity is now gearing up for its next show: School of Rock, which will hit the stage at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on 9th August. With tickets going on sale soon, audiences are encouraged to save the date for another unforgettable evening of music, fun, and fundraising.
