The Grange has received a Parental Partnership accreditation for their commitment to effective partnership work with parents and carers.
The award, from the Schools, Students and Teachers network (SSAT) is for UK schools, academies and colleges, both in the state and private sectors, with the Grange undertaking a comprehensive self evaluation as part of the process. The school has been improving their social media communications, and taking onboard requests and suggestions from parents.
Angelina Idun, Director of Education, SSAT said:
“I am delighted that The Grange School has been awarded the SSAT Parental Partnership Accreditation. Application, evidence, and discussion with a range of stakeholders clearly showed a positive culture in which parents and carers are an integral part of the school community. The way in which parents and carers are able to engage with and contribute to the life of the school truly benefits teaching, learning and student development.”
One of the secondary school's key phrases is "We Can", with the C standing for "community at the heart of the school", and the staff and governors have been working hard to make that statement part of the school's everyday ethos. You can hear about this from Head Teacher, Vince Murray, below, who also talks about how the school has improved their communication, the importance parents play in education, and the pressures on both teachers and parents and carers.
