New Year and Christmas babies arrive in Bucks

Maternity services at Stoke Mandeville Hospital welcomed eight new babies on New Year’s Day.

The first baby of 2024 was a little boy called Akhtar born at 01.04am to Amreena Akhtar and partner Waqar Hussain, weighing 2.57kg.

The second was Baby Mileham-Robin, born at 01.38am to Charlotte Mileham, weighing 3.7kg.

It has been a busy couple of weeks for our teams with nine babies born on Christmas Day too.

The first at 04.45am was Baby Mukta. Baby Ssemakula born at 2.27pm and Baby Ghetu born at 11.41am were also born on Christmas Day.

Director of Midwifery Michelle East said: “Welcoming new arrivals into our world is one of the greatest privileges for our maternity team. Wishing all our new babies and their families a happy and healthy 2024.”
