Following a full inspection in November 2021 from Ofsted, Buckinghamshire College Group has been awarded an overall effectiveness grade of “Good”, it’s first as a merged college following its formation in 2017.
A large team of inspectors visited campuses in Aylesbury, Amersham and Wycombe to meet students, staff and observe lessons. They graded the College in eight key areas finding it to be “Good” in all but one type of provision.
Karen Mitchel, who is principal and chief exec of the Buckinghamshire college group said:
"I'm absolutely delighted in our first inspection as a merged college. Despite all the recent pandemic challenges, Ofsted have recognised the great learning experience students have at the college and how prepared they are for work, and for further and higher study.
"This is a testament to our wonderful staff who work incredibly hard each day to support our students to achieve their goals, and to our students who an absolute credit to the college."
However, Karen told us how the college still has room for improvement, and what the plans are for the future:
"There's always improvements we want to make to our students' experience in our journey to be an outstanding skills college for Bucks. We've taken on board the feedback from Ofsted, and we will continue to work hard to achieve the best for our students.
"The college is on an exciting journey, we have plans for a brand new campus in the heart of High Wycombe, and we're committed to proving an outstanding learning experience. So this fantastic result will help us move forward to the next step of our journey."
