Father Christmas may be enjoying a well earned holiday now, but he's left one last gift for charities in the county.
His float, organised by the Rotary Club of Aylesbury Hundreds, toured the town in the lead up to Christmas, and collected the cash for various Bucks charities, including Stoke Mandeville Spinal Research, Pace and the MS Centre. Dementia UK, the club's Charity of the Year, will also benefit.
Representatives from the charities joined members of the Rotary Club and Santa on the journey round Aylesbury, with the float sponsored by Sportif Citroen of Aylesbury, who supplied the tow vehicle. Two Members of the Young Farmers Club, Terry and Dave, were very willing voluntary drivers.
The Club raised £6,029 and President Charles Chaney said: “In these trying times it is so pleasing to see such public generosity, we are indeed very grateful”.
New members are always welcome, with Charles particularly keen to see younger people getting involved. They meet every second Monday at the Horse and Jockey in Aylesbury.
