Bucks Council are encouraging people to join their online talk hosted by people at the heart of fostering and adoption in the county.
Often brothers and sisters can wait longer to be fostered or adopted together but as Judith explains, it’s so beneficial for children when they can be kept together.
“The children are not so anxious, they’re not worrying about where their little brother or their big sister is, they’re in it together and can talk about their shared experiences.”
Buckinghamshire Council always needs more foster carers and adopters who can give a loving and safe home to siblings together. And they want everyone to know what it’s like!
‘It Takes A Village III: My Brother, My Sister, and Me’ is a unique opportunity to hear from real people about their real experiences around fostering and adopting brothers and sisters.
It's being held online at 7pm on Thursday 14 October. Register online to be part of our live audience and hear from our range of special guests.
As well as learning more about Judith’s experience of fostering brothers and sisters, you’ll get to hear from Maggie, a Buckinghamshire adopter and foster carer who adopted two brothers with additional needs. We’ll also be sharing the thoughts of children in foster and adoptive families and their relationship with their new brothers and sisters.
