Teenager left with injures after violent robbery in Tring

Police in neighbouring Hertfordshire are appealing for witnesses and information after a group of males robbed a teenager of his bicycle and designer trainers in Tring.

Between 6.15pm and 6.45pm on Saturday 17 June, the 17 year old victim was cycling along Northfield Road, towards Station Road, when he was struck on the head from behind.

A group of males pushed him off his blue pedal bike and kicked him while shouting threats. They stole his bicycle and white Adidas Yeezy trainers and fled in the direction of Station Road.

The victim sustained a cut to the back of his head, cuts and bruising to his face and a swollen left eye. He flagged down a passer-by for help raising the alarm.

DC Simon Marskell, from Dacorum Local Crime Unit, is investigating, said: “The young victim has been left understandably shaken, with nasty cuts and bruises after this frightening robbery. I’d like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or who may have information about it, especially drivers with dashcam footage, who captured the offence as they passed.

“If you can help, I can be contacted directly by email via simon.marskell@herts.police.uk

You can also report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in the Force Communications Room via the online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/48195/22.

Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
